Leading theatre sound company Autograph has transferred ownership to its management team as another of its leaders steps back.
The management buyout aims to ensure the company’s "continued stability into the next generation".
Around a month after chairman Terry Jardine – who bagged two Olivier nominations for sound design – announced he was stepping back after 36 years at the company, co-founder Andrew Bruce has begun his retirement.

The remaining management has now completed the purchase of the company from Bruce in order to take it forward. Scott Arnold will continue in his role as managing director, alongside Scott George as commercial director, Will McGonagle as hire director, Rob Tory as technical director and Jon Sealey as operations director.
Bruce said the buyout was the culmination of a long process and the best move for everyone involved.
“Autograph has always been a family-owned company and I’m chuffed that we’ve managed to keep it that way, only with some new families involved," he said.
"I’m excited that it’s going to continue to be owned, run and populated by people who just love doing this – experimenting with sound. I know them and their collective ethos well enough to say that they will be just sensational at it."
On behalf of the new owners, Arnold added: “Autograph’s independence is at the heart of our identity and ensuring it continues in the same manner that evolved under the leadership of Julian Beech, Duncan Bell and Terry Jardine over the past 40 years is absolutely essential.
"I am fully confident that Jon, Rob, Scott, and Will are the ideal team to lead us forward; their expertise, good humour, and ambition will ensure Autograph continues to deliver a world-class level of service.”
The change in ownership officially began on January 30.
