Marisha Wallace is to join the cast of Something Rotten!’s UK premiere later this year.
Wallace, whose credits include the Broadway version of Something Rotten! as well as Guys and Dolls at the Bridge Theatre, will star in the show alongside Jason Manford and Richard Fleeshman.
The actor said she was "beyond thrilled" to be cast, adding: "It was pure joy to be a part of this hilarious musical on Broadway a decade ago – so now, to be joining this incredible company for the first time that UK audiences will get to see it, is a full-circle moment in the best way."
Something Rotten! will open at Manchester Opera House on 16th June 2026 and play there until 19th July, after which a West End run is planned.
The Broadway production, created by songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick, screenwriter Karey Kirkpatrick and scriptwriter John O’Farrell, received 10 Tony nominations, but its planned UK premiere at Birmingham Rep in 2020 was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This new production is directed and choreographed by Tim Jackson and produced by Kevin McCollum of Alchemation and Joshua Andrews of JAS Theatricals.
