John Proctor Is the Villain will transfer to Wyndham’s Theatre next year following its stint at the Royal Court.
Kimberly Belflower’s high school drama, which previously ran on Broadway starring Sadie Sink, will run in the West End from 2nd February to 24th April 2027, with a press night on 11th February.
The transfer follows the play’s European premiere at the Royal Court, which opened on 20th March this year and continues to run until 25th April.
Belflower and director Danya Taymor said: "Bringing John Proctor Is the Villain to the West End is a true honour and profound joy for us, especially on the heels of its very witchy UK debut in the Royal Court’s 70th anniversary season.
"The play has been igniting London audiences, and we have fallen deeply in love with this great city. We are so grateful that our spells worked and more people will be able to see the play here—and come back again and again—at the incredible Wyndham’s Theatre in 2027."
Taymor will continue as director alongside a creative team including costume designer Sarah Laux, lighting designer Natasha Katz, sound designer and composer Palmer Hefferan and projection designer Hannah Wasileski.
Tilly Evans-Krueger is the show’s movement director, with Gigi Buffington on board as voice and dialect coach, Julia Horan CDG as casting director, Lauren Halvorsen as dramaturg and AMP featuring Teresa L Williams in charge of scenography.
John Proctor Is the Villain will be produced in the West End by Wagner Johnson Productions, Wessex Grove, Sonia Friedman Productions, Runyonland, Spark Productions, John Mara Jr. and the Royal Court Theatre.
