Emily Gray has been announced the new executive director of Mercury Musical Developments.
She will take over from Victoria Saxton in November to lead the organisation, which focuses on developing new musical theatre writing.
Gray has been artistic director and chief executive of Trestle Theatre Company since 2004 and her recent freelance credits include A Little Princess at the Other Palace in London and Frankenstein with National Youth Theatre.
“I am delighted to be the new executive director of MMD, building on the successful work of Victoria Saxton and developing ambitious plans to support and showcase writers and composers,” Gray said.
She added: “This is a crucial time to be involved in new musical theatre to ensure writer recognition and promote diversity across the sector.”
