Katherine Parkinson is to star in a new play by EV Crowe at the Royal Court.
She will appear alongside Kayla Meikle in Shoe Lady, directed by the Royal Court’s artistic director Vicky Featherstone. Meikle’s previous credits include Ear for Eye at the Royal Court and All My Sons at the Old Vic.
Parkinson was recently announced as the star of a stage adaptation of the TV sitcom The Good Life, which opens at the Theatre Royal Bath in June, with further plans yet to be announced.
Prior to that, Shoe Lady will run in the London venue’s Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from March 4 to 21, with press night on March 9.
It has set design by Chloe Lamford, with lighting by Natasha Chivers, music by Matthew Herbert, sound by Tony Gayle and movement direction by Sasha Milavic Davies.
Crowe’s credits include The Sewing Group, Hero, and Kin – all at the Royal Court, as well as I Can Hear You for the Royal Shakespeare Company and Brenda, which was staged at High Tide Festival and at the Yard Theatre in London.
