Michael Morpurgo’s Running Wild is to tour the UK in 2017.
The stage production of Morpurgo’s novel, which was originally produced by Chichester Festival Theatre and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, will embark on a tour in February next year.
It begins on February 10 at CFT, before visiting venues including the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry, the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield, Hackney Empire, Newcastle Theatre Royal, the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh and the Royal and Derngate, Northampton.
It is running until June 10, where the tour finishes at the Wolverhapmton Grand Theatre.
Running Wild premiered at Chichester in 2015, performed by CFT’s youth theatre, before transferring to Regent’s Park, where it ran earlier this year.
Adapted for the stage by Samuel Adamson, Running Wild is directed by Dale Rooks and Timothy Sheader, with set and costume design by Paul Wills and puppetry design and direction by Finn Caldwell and Toby Olie for Gyre and Gimble.
Lighting is by Paul Anderson, sound by Nick Powell and music by Rod Paton, with additional music by Nick Powell and Louise Anna Duggan.
The tour is produced by the Children’s Touring Partnership, a collaboration between producers Fiery Angel, CFT and a consortium of regional theatres.
