Jane Fallowfield has been appointed literary manager of the Royal Court.
She replaces Chris Campbell, who stepped down after eight years to become senior editor at theatre publisher Oberon Books.
Fallowfield joins the Royal Court from Talawa Theatre Company, where she has held the position of literary associate since 2014.
Her previous roles include director on attachment at Clean Break, director on placement at Birmingham Repertory Theatre and senior reader at new-writing company Paines Plough.
Royal Court artistic director Vicky Featherstone said of Fallowfield’s appointment: “I’m so thrilled to be able to welcome Jane to the Royal Court. I’ve long been an admirer of her work and the vision, care and ambition hat she has demonstrated as literary associate at Talawa is unparalleled. I can’t wait to see how she will take the Royal Court forward for writers over the next few years.”
Fallowfield joins the theatre in April.
