Girl from the North Country will open on Broadway next year, it has been announced.
The musical, which has music and lyrics by Bob Dylan and a book by Conor McPherson, will begin performances at the Belasco Theatre on February 7, 2020.
The production originated at London’s Old Vic before transferring to the West End. It then moved to New York for a run at the off-Broadway Public Theater last year.
It is also directed by McPherson and has design by Rae Smith, lighting by Mark Henderson, sound by Simon Baker and movement by Lucy Hind.
Orchestration, arrangements and music supervision are by Simon Hale.
The Broadway production will be produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, Steven Lappin, Sony Music Entertainment/Sony ATV, David Mirvish, The Dodgers, Len Blavatnik, Sonia Friedman, Dianne Roberts, John Gore Organization, Nederlander Presentations, Inc, Independent Presenters Network, Rod Kaats, Mary Beth O’Connor, and Patrick Catullo, the Old Vic and the Public Theater.
Its Broadway press night will be on March 5, 2020.
A Canadian production of the show opens in Toronto in September.
