Playwright David Edgar is to teach on a Master’s degree in drama writing at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
The course will be led by playwright Stephanie Dale, with the programme aiming to help students develop their understanding of the craft and business of writing through a series of masterclasses and workshops.
Students will have their works bought to life by acting, directing and production students from across the school.
Jenny Stephens, artistic director at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, said: “The MA in Drama Writing recognises writing as the generating force behind most theatrical performances.
“This course is delivered from a practitioners’ perspective and the hands-on experience will ensure an excellent start to graduates’ careers and prepare them for employment by providing a practical and critical understanding of commissioning and other industry processes.”
The one-year course begins in September, with the school accepting applications now.
