As snow continues to fall across the UK and Ireland, theatre productions including Cilla the Musical and Flashdance have had to cancel planned performances.
The Theatre Royal in Newcastle said it had cancelled the March 1 matinee and evening performance of Cilla the Musical because of the “difficult weather conditions”.
It added that the safety of both its performers and audiences had to “come first”.

The venue added that it was monitoring the situation, but hoped to continue performances as usual from March 2.
The King’s Theatre in Glasgow said its performance of The Play That Goes Wrong was cancelled on March 1, while the New Theatre in Cardiff also cancelled a performance of Thriller Live.
The Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh cancelled a staging of The Return, while the Gate Theatre in Dublin said it had cancelled its production of Look Back in Anger because of the “adverse weather conditions”. The show is also cancelled on March 2.
Due to the adverse weather conditions, performances of Look Back in Anger on Wed 28th February, Thurs 1st March, Fri 2nd March are cancelled.

Meanwhile, the Princess Theatre in Torquay said its performance of Flashdance was cancelled on March 1 due to the “problems caused by the extreme weather conditions”.
The Cliffs Pavilion in Southend cancelled a performance by Katherine Ryan, and rescheduled it for April 13.
The Cliffs Pavilion have postponed tonights Katherine Ryan show due to the adverse weather conditions. The show has been postponed until 13th April 2018. Original tickets remain valid for the new show. Anyone unable to attend the new date should return their tickets for a refund.

Earlier this week, a performance of Mamma Mia! in the West End on February 26 was cancelled due to cast illness.
