This course offers an introduction to the Sesame approach through a combination of online and in-person sessions on Central’s campus.
You will explore Sesame’s theoretical foundations in the psychology of Carl Jung, Rudolph Laban’s movement observation, Marian ‘Billy’ Lindkvist’s development of movement with touch and sound, and Peter Slade’s work on play theory. The Sesame approach is unique in that it is underscored by Jung’s psychodynamic theory.
This course will:
• Help you develop your understanding of the foundations of the Sesame approach, in particular, its grounding in Jungian psychology and artistic practice;
• Provide the necessary framework for critical reflection and thinking and develop your analytical skills;
• Provide the opportunity to improve and develop your approach to group work and collaborative forms of teaching and learning
You can also take the online module as a stand-alone course
