BA (Hons) Acting for Film, TV and New Media

FacebookTwitterLinkedIn

This innovative degree has been designed to offer an alternative to the traditional drama school model. Maintaining rigorous actor training built around the techniques of Michael Chekhov, Meisner, Demidov, Stasberg and others, this course aims to graduate actors who are versed in industry standards and trained to tackle the challenges that await young actors today.

The first of its kind in the UK, this course recognises and celebrates the diversity of characters being created for the camera and microphone mediums. Dedicated entirely to meet the realities of the industry while balancing the integrity of the creative process, each student is nurtured to bring out their unique creative perspective.

The degree is connected into Bristol’s ever-expanding network of film and TV studios and production companies. Taught entirely by working industry professionals, you will develop your own professional industry network. Production experiences include professionally commissioned and curated short films that are screened in London as part of your 3rd year showcase. A digital showcase featuring a variety of other projects will expand your network internationally as it is shared with industry contacts in the UK and abroad in the United States.

Securing a place on the course will be challenging. You will need commitment to sustain an intensive training course that constantly challenges your dedication to learn your craft and fulfil your passion for acting.
