Stage Entertainment has bolstered its creative team with two key appointments – including James Triner, who joins as international executive producer.
Triner, who most recently headed up the general management arm of the Michael Grandage Company – is joined by Jamie Wolpert, who takes the post of head of international development.
Chief executive Arthur de Bok said the new appointments come as the company renews its focus on “long-term growth”.
“These new appointments are a testimony to our enhanced commitment to creative development and global production, in addition to the biggest titles from Broadway and the West End that we bring together with our partners to our network of theatres and on tour throughout the world. I warmly welcome James and Jamie to the company,” he said.
Wolpert and Triner, who was also executive producer of The Book of Mormon for two years, will be based in London and will work with group creative managing director Tali Pelman.
She said the appointments would allow Stage Entertainment to increase its “capacity to generate premium original content” and boost its programming portfolio.
Triner will support the roll out of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical in the UK and North America, while Wolpert – whose background is in film and television – will be tasked with developing the company’s international slate of work.
In 2016, it was revealed that Stage Entertainment had closed its UK producing arm. While Triner and Wolpert are based in London, their role will be to support the company’s international work.
