Nicola Roberts has been cast in the forthcoming West End revival of City of Angels.
The Girls Aloud singer will join a previously announced cast that includes Rosalie Craig, Rebecca Trehearn, Hadley Fraser and Vanessa Williams.
Roberts will make her theatre debut in Josie Rourke’s production of the Cy Coleman musical, which ran at the Donmar Warehouse in 2014 and is being revived for a run at the Garrick Theatre.
She said: “I am delighted that Josie and the production have chosen me to be Mallory for City of Angels. To make my acting debut in this show and to work with such a fantastic company of actors and Josie Rourke is a dream come true for me.”
It opens for previews on March 5.
City of Angels has music by Coleman, lyrics by David Zippel and a book by Larry Gelbart.
The original Donmar creative team will reunite for the West End run, including choreographer Stephen Mear and designer Robert Jones.
It is produced by Nica Burns, Ian Osborne, Eilene Davidson and Adam Blanshay Productions.
