A box of puppets, instruments and costumes stolen from Kneehigh has been returned anonymously to the theatre company.
The company reported the property missing last week and contacted the police after noticing signs of forced entry to one of its barns.
The box, which included two puppets from its recent production of The Tin Drum, was discovered on March 3 outside the company’s Gorran Haven premises.
The company tweeted: “A case of puppets, costumes and instruments was left outside the barns last night. Thank you to whoever returned them. We are relieved and very happy.”
Puppet director Sarah Wright said: “We find out how much some things matter once they have gone and these amazing figures, that have told such strong stories and contain charged memories and energy, have mattered more than I can say.”
Kneehigh’s head of communications and development Chloe Rickard confirmed the company would not pursue the matter any further.
