Producer Michael Harrison is to fund a new award at Arts Educational Schools London that will support young performers through their training.
The new bursary is named after Jac Yarrow, who trained at ArtsEd and is currently starring in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which Harrison is producing.
The award, which will support a new student every three years, will also cover the cost of living in London.
Harrison said: “Jac Yarrow may not have had the opportunity to star as Joseph at the London Palladium were it not for the fantastic work of Arts Educational School. I wanted Jac to have a special gift to mark the opening of the show and I hope this award will allow others to have the same opportunities and support.”
The recipient of the first awards is Ben Cullerton, from Leicester.
