Ian McKellen is to feature in the first episode of a new podcast series from The Stage.
The first actor to top The Stage 100 will be interviewed for Seven Stages, a platform for influential industry creatives to talk about their ‘artistic and personal journeys.’
Each interviewee will be asked seven questions, answering each with the name of a show, and will be interviewed by Tim Bano.
Editor Alistair Smith said: “We’re excited to launch Seven Stages, a free podcast geared towards giving listeners an exclusive insight into the careers of the industry’s greatest talents.
“We’re also delighted that Sir Ian McKellen, who topped The Stage 100 this year and boasts one of the most extraordinary theatre careers, has agreed to be our first ever guest on the show.”
The podcast will be launched on February 21, and will be aired fortnightly on Fridays. It will be available to download from platforms such as Apple, Spotify and Podbean, and is sponsored by Audible.
Subscribers to The Stage can access podcasts via The Stage website from February 21.
