English National Ballet’s facility in east London and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts’ new building in Peckham are among the nominees for the RIBA London Awards 2020.
The RIBA Awards, run by the Royal Institute of British Architects, celebrate architecture across the UK.
Other nominees for the RIBA London Awards 2020 include the Boulevard Theatre in Soho, designed by SODA Studio, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama’s North Block building, designed by Tim Ronalds Architects, and UCL’s Bloomsbury Theatre, by Nicholas Hare Architects.
English National Ballet’s new facility, which is part of the London City Island development, is designed by Glenn Howells Architects.
It has eight studios for rehearsals and teaching, training facilities including gyms and a rehabilitation centre, and a theatre-sized studio.
Mountview’s multimillion pound new base in Peckham includes a 200-seat theatre, an 80-seat space and 21 training studios. It is designed by Turner Works.
