Contemporary dance-theatre company Jasmin Vardimon is to open a pop-up venue in a shopping centre in Ashford, Kent.
The space will be used for masterclasses, workshops, exhibitions, talks and screenings. It has a capacity for 40 or 25 people for classes.
Running from January 16 to the end of June, the pop-up venue will be situated inside McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.
A statement said the company aims to use the space to “engage more closely with the Ashford Community” and help local people build creative skills, with a selection of classes to run on a “pay-as-you-feel” basis.
Classes will include parent/carer and child creative movement, children’s dance and creativity workshops for families.
The company’s artistic director Jasmin Vardimon said: “Over the past eight years we have made a positive impact on culture and dance education in Ashford and this will provide an opportunity to share our experience and knowledge with the wider community of Ashford and Kent.
“We welcome visitors to experience all that we have to offer and be involved in shaping our participation programme ahead of the move into our new building.”
Peter Corr, centre manager of McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Ashford, said: “Offering more than just a shopping experience has become an integral part of McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Ashford. It is very important to us to give back to the community with unique experiences.”
