Andrew Lloyd Webber has once again topped the Sunday Times’ list of the wealthiest musicians in the country, in an entry that reveals the pandemic has cost him £20 million.
Lloyd Webber is number one in the music section of the Sunday Times Rich List, which is published in full this weekend.
His wealth in 2020 is put at £800 million, down £20 million year on year.
“Lloyd Webber tops the list but the forced closure of his prestigious theatres in London has seen his wealth fall £20 million in a year,” the Times reported.
Others in the list include The Lion King composer Elton John, who comes in at number four and has a wealth of £360 million – up £40 million on the previous year – and lyricist Tim Rice, who ranks at number 21, with a wealth of £155 million. In the past year he has had successful revivals of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Evita, both penned with Lloyd Webber.
