Ambassador Theatre Group has appointed Eventim managing director Rob Edwards to head up a new digital strategy.

Edwards has been named project manager of Evolution, the strand of ATG which will trial new technology, work on introducing e-tickets and develop new mobile apps.

The company will also rework its online ticketing system in order to “improve customer experience”.

Helen Enright, ATG’s chief financial officer and commercial director, said: “The transformation of our digital capability is crucial to the development of the business as it will enable us to trial new technology, increase ATG’s profile and brand identity and, most importantly, allow us greater engagement with our customers.”

She added that Edwards was “ideally positioned to lead this project” thanks to his “significant experience” in ticketing and e-commerce.

Reacting to his appointment, Edwards said: “I’m delighted to be joining ATG at such an exciting time for the company and look forward to working with the team in delivering these new e-commerce advancements for ATG and its customers.”

He will begin his new role in February.
