PRG Group buys XL Video
XL Video Group, which provides video services to live events, is to be bought by global technical supplier Production Resource Group.
XL Video has provided video screens and control systems to the Olivier Awards for the past five years, and has also worked on a number of theatre productions, including Man and Superman at the National Theatre.
PRG’s takeover of XL Video is expected to be completed by the end of June. The fee for the purchase is undisclosed.
PRG chairman and chief executive Jeremiah J Harris said: “By combining XL Video with PRG, we are creating a tremendously valuable resource for event and entertainment producers anywhere in the world. The integrated company will be able to offer an exceptional breadth of production technologies and depth of industry expertise.”
Lucas Covers, the chief executive of XL Video, added: “We have established a client base that has become more sophisticated in their expectations of the standard of video production. As part of PRG, we will continue to exceed their expectations and raise the bar on video production.”
PRG is a US-based company, whose work has included providing lighting, audio, video, scenery and automation systems for the 2011 Broadway musical Spiderman – Turn Off the Dark.
