There are 11 plays up for the prize, which is open to the public vote. The three with the most votes will be awarded prizes as part of the 2015 Alfred Fagon Awards, which “celebrate the depth of talented black British playwrights” of Caribbean and African descent working in the UK today.

The full list of nominated plays is:

Alongside the new audience award, the ceremony’s traditional best play prize will be presented at a ceremony in November. Last year’s winner of this award was Charlene James for Cuttin’ It.

This award is judged by a panel and the shortlist will be announced in early November.
