Elaine Paige and Charlie Stemp have been cast in the London Palladium’s 2017 pantomime Dick Whittington.
They will play Queen Rat and Dick Whittington respectively, joining previously announced cast members Julian Clary, Paul Zerdin and Nigel Havers.
Paige and Stemp will also be joined by Ashley Banjo and Diversity, who won the third series of Britain’s Got Talent, and actor Gary Wilmot.
Stemp is currently appearing in the West End production of Half a Sixpence, which recently announced that it will close in September.
Michael Harrison directs, with choreography by Karen Bruce, lighting by Ben Cracknell, design by Ian Westbrook, costumes by Hugh Durrant, projections by Duncan McLean and sound by Gareth Owen.
Dick Whittington is produced by Nick Thomas and Michael Harrison for Qdos Entertainment.
It is written by Alan McHugh and runs from December 9, 2017 to January 14, 2018 with press night on December 13.
