Last year, as theatres emerged from lockdown, Nica Burns gave 23 producers their big break by staging their West End debuts in Nimax’s six London venues in the Rising Stars Festival. She tells Matthew Hemley it was a response to the plight the industry was in and that while the financial return was minimal, it paid dividends in creative opportunity and staff happiness
