Adam Spreadbury-Maher

Biography

Adam Spreadbury-Maher has been artistic director of the King’s Head Theatre in Islington since 2010. He founded the Cock Tavern and Hope Theatres, and co-founded OperaUpClose. In 2011 he produced the Olivier Award-winning La Boheme for OperaUpClose. In 2018 his new version of La Boheme was nominated for Best New Opera again at Lawrence Olivier Awards. He introduced the first unionised pay agreement for actors in an unfunded pub theatre at the King's Head Theatre in 2011.
