Stage One has unveiled the latest wave of UK producers selected for its New York Columbia exchange programme.
Those taking part will learn how the producing model works in the US and build a network of commercial contacts on Broadway.
Founded in 2019 and marking its fifth annual exchange, the initiative is being run jointly by charity Stage One and Columbia University and will fly 12 UK producers to New York from September 15 to 19.
Among them are Bethany Cooper, producer, general manager and recipient of the 2022 Nicole Kidman Bursary, Demid Naumov, current associate producer for Six the Musical, and Jazz Lintott-Bruce, producer of Going for Gold: The Frankie Lucas Story, which earned three award wins at the Black British Theatre Awards.
Conor Gray, previous associate manager at the Old Vic and now producer at the Watermill Theatre, Kate Baiden, producer for London’s Hammersmith Theatre, and Simon Paris, founder and artistic director of Say It Again, Sorry? and producer of the interactive show Earnest?, are also to receive support towards getting a foot in the door in the US theatre production sector.

Completing the line-up are fellow producers David Shopland, Gareth Andrews, James Steel, Jamie Rycroft, Sophie Visscher, and Winnie Imara. Between them, they have founded companies ranging from Story Works Live and James Steel Productions to Speakerphone Productions.
All 12 producers are to receive a series of industry-focused workshops to learn everything about how to produce on Broadway.
Stage One chief executive Joseph Smith said: “Stage One is thrilled to be hosting our fifth producer exchange in partnership with Columbia University, providing a chance for aspiring commercial theatre producers to build stronger ties with their fellow producers in New York.
“Creative teams in the US and the UK have a great history of collaboration, and we hope this programme continues to inspire these collaborative partnerships and future commercial projects.”
The Columbia exchange is supported by the John Gore Organization.
