Lara Pulver and Peter Davison to star in London run of Gypsy
Lara Pulver will reprise her role as Louise in the West End transfer of the musical Gypsy, with Peter Davison joining the cast.
Both join the previously announced Imelda Staunton, who – alongside Pulver – was in the Chichester Festival Theatre production last year.
Davison is joining the production as Herbie, a role played in Chichester by Kevin Whately.
Gypsy, which is directed by Jonathan Kent, runs at the Savoy Theatre from March 28, with press night on April 15.
It is produced in the West End by Michael Harrison and David Ian.
The musical is written by Arthur Laurents, Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim, with choreography by Stephen Mear, design by Anthony Ward and musical direction by Nicholas Skilbeck. Lighting is by Mark Henderson and sound is by Paul Groothuis.
Kent and Staunton previously worked together on Chichester’s Sweeney Todd, which also transferred to London.
