Acting for Camera: An Introduction (online)

Working with a film industry professional, prepare and work on monologues, duologues and scenes from a range of television, commercial and film genres.

  • In this practical, online course, you will be directed remotely by the course tutor and provided with the technical know-how to record your individual shots.
  • Explore fundamental acting exercises from a variety of acting practitioners with a focus on developing your imagination and creating believable screen performances
  • Develop an understanding of the technical aspects of shooting a scene and how this affects your performance as the character
  • Understand how to adjust your performance depending on the nature of the camera shot and action of the scene
  • Record your individual shots, which you will submit to the tutor, who will then edit them together with your scene partner’s to create the edited scene
  • Learn about castings and auditions using self-tapes

Please note, you do not produce a show reel as part of this course but you will get to see the footage that is produced throughout the course as part of the learning process
