Judi, Judi, Judi. That’s Dame Judi to the likes of you and me and clearly she should be given all the respect a dame demands.

But even dames like Judi can find themselves at the centre of a joke sometimes, and this week it was an awards nomination blunder that had everyone rolling in the aisles.

For when the Screen Actors Guild announced its latest nominees, it proudly announced that Judi was up for best actress in a leading “roll” for her turn in Victoria and Abdul.

Oh how we laughed. Twitter was immediately awash with smart-arse comments from users praising Dame Judi for being the toast of Hollywood, while another remarked that she played a fantastic french bread.

Seriously, not since Tracey Ullman spoofed Dame Judi on her BBC sketch show have we all had such a laugh at her expense. One can only hope that Judi saw the funny side.

Tabard likes to think she would have. Indeed, Tabard knows she would have, especially since her own daughter was one of those to tweet out the blunder.

Good old Judi. She knows which side her bread is buttered. Not even sorry…
