Tabard has already raised some concerns over the film adaption of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. The entire premise of adult humans dressing up as singing cats and prancing across the stage has always been a little disturbing.
However we’ve grown to love those fluffy costumes and there’s something even more fur-midable about the idea of celebrities including Judi Dench, Idris Elba and Taylor Swift being CGI’d into real cats with virtual hair.
Sadly, though, our worst fears seem to have been confirmed with the release of the trailer for Tom Hooper’s film adaptation, which, judging by reactions, is nothing short of a cat-astrophe.
Some have questioned why the cats have human breasts, while others are disconcerted about the fact that they are wearing fur coats.
Twitter user Louis Virtel remarked: “I don’t know why you’re all freaking out over miniature yet huge cats with human celebrity faces and sexy breasts performing a demented dream ballet for kids.”

Rapper Example waded in, telling Twitter followers: “Fuck me I’ve just seen that Cats’ trailer. The whole thing looks like a face swap meme nightmare.”
While it’s not always wise to judge a film on first impressions, Tabard isn’t quite sure how producers are going to be able to claw things back from here.
Cats is scheduled for release on December 20.
