La Maladie De La Mort – Royal Lyceum, Edinburgh
After the extraordinarily potent and moving Anatomy of a Suicide, director Katie Mitchell reunites with Alice Birch for an adaptation of Marguerite Duras’ novel La Maladie De La Mort. It runs from August 16-19 at the Royal Lyceum Theatre as part of the Edinburgh International Festival.
Emilia – Shakespeare’s Globe, London
Michelle Terry’s inaugural season at Shakespeare’s Globe continues with Morgan Lloyd Malcom’s new play about Emilia Lanier, early modern poet and the woman thought to be Shakespeare’s muse – the Dark Lady of the sonnets. It opens on August 15.
