Holy Shit – Kiln Theatre, London

The rebranded, refurbished Tricycle reopens as Kiln Theatre with a production of Alexis Zegerman’s new play about parents desperate to get their child into a Church of England school. Indhu Rubasingham [1] directs the production, which opens on September 10.

An Adventure – Bush Theatre, London

Madani Younis [3] directs Vinay Patel’s epic new play based on his grandparents’ journey from India to Kenya and eventually to London. Crossing decades and continents, it opens at the Bush Theatre on September 11.

The Village – Theatre Royal Stratford East, London

Nadia Fall kicks off her tenure as artistic director of Theatre Royal Stratford East with a new adaptation by April De Angelis of Lope de Vega’s Fuenteovejuna. With a cast including Anya Chalotra, it opens on September 13.

Women in Power – NST City, Southampton

Blanche McIntyre directs an update of Aristophanes’ The Assemblywomen by Wendy Cope, Jenny Eclair, Suhayla El-Bushra, Natalie Haynes and Shappi Khorsandi. It opens in Southampton on September 13.

Heathers: The Musical – Theatre Royal Haymarket, London

After an extended preview run at the Other Palace, Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy’s Heathers: The Musical, based on the 1989 cult film, opens in the West End. Carrie Hope Fletcher stars in the production, which opens on September 13. “Come on, Heather, it’ll be very.”
