The company that staged Sweeney Todd in a pop-up pie shop is to revive its site-specific production of Barrie Keeffe’s Barbarians.
Tooting Arts Club’s show will be set in a post-recession Britain and will be staged in the former Central Saint Martins School of Art.
It will run from September 29 to November 7, and press performances will take place on October 3, 5 and 6.
The company last staged Barrie Keeffe’s play in 2012, and the new production will feature original cast member Thomas Coombes alongside Jake Davies and Josh Williams.
Directed by Bill Buckhurst, who also directed Sweeney Todd, the show will be designed by Simon Kenny, with sound by Joshua Richardson and lighting by Rob Youngson.
It is produced by Rachel Edwards for Tooting Arts Club, with Hilary Williams as co-producer. The show is presented in association with Soho Theatre and Jagged Fence Theatre and with support from Soho Estates.
