The Stage is launching a survey of students, graduates and theatre professionals to shed light on the state of drama school training in the UK.
Entitled The UK Drama School Survey 2026, the questionnaire is a bid to gather evidence about the experience of training, from teaching to well-being, and how well the system prepares graduates for work in the industry.
As well as students and alumni, The Stage is also seeking the perspectives of established creatives and executives, from actors to casting directors.
The survey will cover drama school training at institutions across the UK, and welcomes responses about technical and production training as well as performance courses.
Findings will be reported online and in print as part of The Stage’s How To Choose Your Drama School supplement later this year.
The UK Drama School Survey 2026, developed with Data Culture Change, closes on 31st July, with entrants eligible for a prize draw. You can take part in the survey here.
