A new edition of the script for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Fleabag is being released to coincide with the show’s forthcoming West End run.
Fleabag: The Special Edition will feature the original play script alongside bonus content by Waller-Bridge, director Vicky Jones and members of the creative team, and never-before-seen photos.
Waller-Bridge’s one-woman show began life in Edinburgh in 2013, and has gone on to enjoy runs in London and New York, national and international tours, and was adapted into a BBC series.
Last month, the second series of Fleabag was nominated for 11 Emmy awards.
It will return to London next month for a run at the West End’s Wyndham’s Theatre, and the special edition will be released on August 29 by Nick Hern Books.
The publisher’s managing director, Matt Applewhite, said the new edition would “give Fleabag’s millions of fans a chance to celebrate its incredible journey from fringe theatre hit to international cultural phenomenon”.
“When we first published Fleabag six years ago, it had only just started out on that path, but even then we knew it was something very special indeed. So it’s been wonderful to watch it grow into the worldwide success it is today,” he added.
