Eight shows have been awarded Fringe First awards in the second week of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Three Summerhall productions were honoured in the second round of accolades – Taylor Shasha’s Everything I See I Swallow, Sh!t Theatre Drink Rum with Expats by Sh!t Theatre, and Cumbernauld Theatre’s LipSync.
Elsewhere, Fringe Firsts were won by Ontroerend Goed’s Are We Not Drawn Onward to New ErA at Zoo Southside, Emily Jenkins’ Bobby and Amy at the Pleasance and Nadia Cavelle’s Subject Mater, by Woven Voices, at Paradise in the Vault.
London-based Woven Voices said it was “thrilled beyond words” at the award, while Jenkins said: “I am over the moon that Bobby and Amy has won such a prestigious award. It means so much that Edinburgh audiences have reacted so positively to the story we are telling.”
Run by the Scotsman in conjunction with Edinburgh University, the awards are presented weekly to new writing premiering at the fringe.
