Three Scottish sisters have launched a fundraising campaign to create what they believe to be the UK’s first drive-in variety show.
Rohanne, Victoria and Harriet Compson-Bradford – who are co-founders of Theatre company Rosie Glow Productions – are behind the crowdfunding campaign.
They aim to raise £10,000 towards a production called Revival, which will include performances from comedians, singers, magicians and dancers who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The socially distanced drive-in production will take place in Scone Palace near Perth, beginning on August 15 and running until August 30.
Victoria Compson-Bradford, who is a performer, said: “Our world has been turned upside down during the lockdown. All of our shows have had to be postponed and it feels like our careers are on pause.
“But there are other ways to enjoy live entertainment, and the UK is way behind. Drive-in theatres are thriving in the Scandinavian countries, so why can’t it be done here?
“We hope Revival will show that theatre is not dying, we just have to find new ways to access it".
