Performers including Rachel Tucker, Zizi Strallen and Tyrone Huntley will star in a concert to launch an initiative aimed at allowing singers to access sheet music from new musical theatre writers.
The performers will be joined by Rebecca Trehearn, Luke Baker and Molly Lynch on June 23.
They will all be singing songs that can be found on the new website, New UK Musicals, which has been created so singers can access songs from new shows.
Composers whose work features on the site include Finn Anderson, Gus Gowland, Teresa Howard and Tim Sutton.
It has been created by Darren Clark, who wrote The Wicker Husband and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Clark said: “Lockdown seemed like the perfect time to build this site. New UK Musicals gives performers the opportunity to expand and refresh their repertoire while connecting with some of the best new writers that the UK has to offer.”
The concert is produced by ALPmusicals and will be available on its website.
Producer Adam Lenson said: “New musicals need to be heard. This is a hugely exciting initiative, which allows writers to share their songs with performers all over the world. I’m thrilled to get to work with Darren and this astounding line-up to show just how incredible new UK musical theatre can be.”
