The Madness of George III, starring Mark Gatiss, is the latest production confirmed for the National Theatre at Home series.
The Nottingham Playhouse production ran in 2018, directed by the theatre’s artistic director Adam Penford.
It will be the first production that originated outside London to be streamed as part of National Theatre at Home, and its NT Live broadcast marked the first collaboration between the two venues.
NT at Home productions are free to watch on YouTube, with audiences encouraged to donate. Money raised from the Madness of George III broadcast will be split between the National Theatre and Nottingham Playhouse’s Curtain Up appeal.
It will be streamed on June 11, and will then be available for a week.
Alongside Gatiss, the cast also includes Adrian Scarborough and Debra Gillett.
Shows already streamed as part of the initiative include James Graham’s This House, Inua Ellams’ Barber Shop Chronicles, Twelfth Night starring amiss Greig and Antony and Cleopatra, starring Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo.
