Tamsin Greig is to provide the voice for The Guide in an immersive production of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy at Riverside Studios beginning next month.
The experience, which boasts co-producers including Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, is billed as an immersive show that incorporates musical theatre, dance and "magic".
Pre-recorded voiceovers from the likes of Greig and fellow actor Sanjeev Bhaskar will be accompanied by live performances from actors including Benjamin Durham, Lee VG, Richard Costello, Angelis Hunt and Alex Anthony Fevrier.
The live cast’s theatre credits span shows from Death of England to Tina: The Tina Turner Musical and Jesus Christ Superstar at the Watermill Theatre.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is co-created by film producer Arvind Ethan David, who recalled being mentored by the original novel’s author, Douglas Adams.
"30 years later, it’s a singular honour to bring his masterwork, absurd and profound in equal measure, to new audiences, in a partnership with a world class group of artists," said David.
The show is to run at Riverside Studios from November 15 to February 15 2026, with a press night scheduled for November 26.
It is presented by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatricals, and produced by Tamar Climan of Climan Producing and Prodigal Entertainment, with general management by Smart Entertainment. Other co-producers include Steven Spielberg & Kate Capshaw, and Concord Theatricals.
