Edward Hicks, head of film, TV and radio at RADA, has been named principal of the Oxford School of Drama.
He replaces George Peck, who founded the school 33 years ago and is retiring in August, when he will then become founding principal.
Hicks has worked at RADA for 11 years and has been credited with establishing new relationships with bodies such as Directors UK.
He said: “Oxford School of Drama is a true gem with an impressive reputation and I feel very privileged to be inheriting this inspirational school from George Peck, who will be much missed by all.’
Chair Peter Wilson-Smith praised his “vast range of experience in the profession” and said he would provide “great leadership for our students in the years ahead”.
