A musical based on the comedy series Only Fools and Horses has confirmed a run in the West End next year.
The musical, which will run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, has been written by comedian Paul Whitehouse and Jim Sullivan, the son of the show’s original creator John Sullivan.
It will also feature additional music by Chas Hodges, from Chas and Dave.
Whitehouse will also appear in Only Fools and Horses the Musical, as Grandad, with Tom Bennett starring as Del Boy and Ryan Hutton as Rodney, the roles made famous by David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst in the BBC television series.
The stage show has been fully endorsed by the Sullivan estate, and will feature some of the series’ best-known characters, including Boycie, Marlene, Cassandra and Trigger.
Raquel, Del Boy’s girlfriend, will be played by Dianne Pilkington, while Cassandra will be played by Pippa Duffy.
Whitehouse said: “This was the last project that John Sullivan was working on when he died – he was just starting to develop Only Fools as a musical – so when writing it, Jim and I have remained very faithful to the feel and scripts of the TV series, but also highlight some contemporary issues.”
It will be directed by Caroline Jay Ranger and runs from February 9, with press night on February 19.
The show is produced by Phil McIntyre.
