Nottingham Playhouse has appointed Jake Orr as its first producer.
Orr will step down as producer at Theatre503, where he has been based since 2017, to take up the new position.
In his new role, he will work on up to 13 in-house productions per year, across both the main theatre and Neville Studio.
The theatre said he would also “support West End transfers, tours and co-created projects”.
In addition, Orr will help develop new writing and assist with programming, working alongside artistic director Adam Penford and chief executive Stephanie Sirr.
Orr said: “Having been a long admirer of Nottingham Playhouse I am delighted to be joining the company at such an exciting time for the organisation. The work Adam Penford and Stephanie Sirr have developed for Nottingham audiences and those across the UK is remarkable. I can’t wait to get to join such a brilliant team.”
Sirr said Orr would bring “exceptional producing skills to the senior team at Nottingham Playhouse”.
Orr is the founder of A Younger Theatre and Incoming Festival.
He will start his new role at the end of October 2019.
