Writers including Friends star Matthew Perry and Girls creator Lena Dunham have penned monologues about mental health and addiction, as part of a night at the Old Vic curated by Russell Brand.
Cracked, which will also see Brand write and perform, is described as a night of seven solo performances “written in response to the growing conversation and changing attitudes around mental health and addiction”.
Others writing for Cracked include Kate Tempest and Scarlett Curtis.
Brand said: “For this night, mental illness and addiction will adorn the Old Vic stage, celebrated, explored and attacked through Cracked. I am honoured to have been asked to take over the asylum, albeit for one night only.”
Cracked is part on One Voice, a series conceived by artistic director Matthew Warchus. It will take place at the Old Vic on September 29.
