Heavy rain on September 24 forced London theatres to cancel shows.
The rainfall meant Southwark Playhouse and Soho Theatre were both unable to proceed with performances of some shows.
In a statement, Soho Theatre said: “The intensity of the rain and some external drainage problems beyond Soho Theatre caused some water damage so we reluctantly cancelled some of the shows as a safety precaution.”
Shows cancelled included Cora Bissett’s What Girls Are Made Of, a one-woman show by Shappi Khorsandi and Manhood by Tom Rosenthal. All shows were due to resume today (September 25).
Meanwhile, Southwark Playhouse said it had had to cancel Preludes because of the rain affecting its Large space. The show was cancelled after Act I of the musical.
One of its cast members, Rebecca Caine, tweeted that she was “gutted to be flooded out” of the theatre.
