English Touring Opera has restructured its leadership team, with James Conway becoming artistic director and Jane-Eve Straughton taking the new role of executive director.
Conway has been general director since 2002, but the new role of artistic director will allow him to “fully focus on leading the company’s artistic vision and planning”.
Straughton, who joined ETO in 2014 as general manager and finance director, takes the new role of executive director and will have responsibility for financial and operational strategy.
In addition, the company has made a number of new appointments, including Helen Evans as head of finance, Dominic Haddock as head of development and communications, and Bradley Travis as associate artist.
ETO chair of trustees Mark Beddy said: “I am delighted that we have created a team that will ensure continuity of ETO’s artistic vision and management strength.”
ETO was formed in 1979 under the name Opera 80.
