Disney’s Frozen has delayed its opening in the West End until April next year, as it announces further casting for the show.
Joining the previously announced Samantha Barks and Stephanie McKeon are Obioma Ugoala as Kristoff, Craig Gallivan as Olaf, Oliver Ormson as Hans, Richard Frame as Weselton, with Mikayla Jade and Ashley Birchall alternating the role of Sven.
Others in the cast include Jeremy Batt, Matt Gillett, Emily Lane, Sarah O’Connor, Monica Swayne, and Anna Woodside. The cast also includes Cameron Burt, Lauren Chia, Laura Emmitt, Emily-Mae, Danielle Fiamanya, Hannah Fairclough, Joe Griffiths-Brown, Justin-Lee Jones, Jason Leigh Winter, Jacob Maynard, Leisha Mollyneaux, Gabriel Mokake, Sarah O’Connor, Jemma Revell, Jacqui Sanchez, Jak Skelly, Jake Small and Isabel Snaas, Joshua St. Clair.
The production, which had been due to open later this year, will now begin previews on April 2, 2021, with an opening scheduled for April 14.
All customers with pre-existing bookings will automatically be transferred to a new performance date with the same seats. If the new date is not suitable, they will have the opportunity to request an alternative date or a refund.
Director Michael Grandage said: “We’re thrilled to announce casting for Frozen – an incredibly talented group of people who will be creating the London premiere at the newly refurbished Theatre Royal Drury Lane next spring. As theatres start to open their doors again, we look forward to celebrating the spectacle of this beloved story with audiences everywhere".
The show has music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and a book by Jennifer Lee.
It is produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and opened on Broadway in March 2018. The Broadway production announced earlier this year it would not be reopening once theatres are able to begin operating.
