Drama school graduates missing out on final-year performances because of coronavirus will be able to showcase themselves online as part of a new initiative.
Showcase 2020, a website launched by actors Olivia Beardsley and Isaac Stanmore, allows performers to be listed by their school and course, and to upload their details, Spotlight link and a showcase video.
It follows the cancellation of many drama school showcases due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Beardsley and Stanmore said they hoped agents and casting directors would use the site, which is free for everyone.
They said: “With all the uncertainty around the entertainment industry at the moment, we feel there is one group missing out more than any other – and that is 2020 drama school graduates.
“With shows cancelled, schools closed and showcases pulled altogether, 2020 graduates are missing out on vital showcase opportunities, introducing themselves to agents, casting directors and industry professionals. So we decided to do something about it.”
