Guildford School of Acting is to hold a virtual showcase for its theatre production graduates who had an exhibition of their work cancelled due to Covid-19.
GSA will email an interactive programme of all the portfolios to industry contacts, while also displaying them on the students’ individual graduate portfolio web pages.
The school believes it is the first conservatoire to announce a virtual showcase for production students.
Jo Franklin, head of technical theatre arts at GSA, said: "We had planned to show off our 2020 graduates from BA Theatre Production and MA Stage and Production Management at our annual exhibition and networking event at the Boulevard Theatre on April 29.
"However due to the closure of theatres we quickly had to rethink and adapt to our new situation.
"Following the successful GSA BA Acting and BA Musical Theatre showcases, staff and students decided that an online showcase could work for production students too."
Franklin added: "We are so proud of our brilliant, talented, resilient backstage graduates and know that they’ll be ready and able to launch their careers as soon as the theatre industry can get back to work."
